Anconeal process of Ulna
Clinical relevance: Ununited anconeal process (part of the elbow dysplasia complex)
Mainly in the German Shepherd Dog, Irish Wolfhound, Great Dane, Gordon Setter and Basset Hound; no gender predilection; often bilateral.
Olecranon
Serves as a lever arm, or tension process, for the powerful extensor muscles of the elbow joint
Ulna
Medial epicondyle
Functionally known as the flexor epicondyle.
Gives origin to the m. flexor carpi radialis, m. flexor digitorum superficialis, and the humeral heads of the mm. flexor digitorum profundus and flexor carpi ulnaris.
Radius
Humerus
Medial Coronoid Process
Clinical relevance: fragmentation of the medial coronoid process of the ulna (FMCP) -part of the elbow dysplasia complex seen in young dogs of medium and large
breeds, especially the Labrador, Golden Retriever, Bernese Mountain Dog, Rottweiler, Newfoundland; male preponderance; often bilateral.
Head of radius
Humeral condyle
